Landon P asked: My company is looking to put on a touring theatrical production which will visit elementary schools over the Midwest and perform a show for the students & faculty.
Our expense per show will be $1,600.00… Now the problem is, I don’t really want to charge each school $1,600… That’s a lot of money and will most likely result in not getting many shows. We can’t bring down the price anymore… so I have come up with a way that I think might work… I need the public opinion on it though…
What we would do is charge each student, say, $3.50 - $4.00 to attend the show, and collect a small deposit from the school ($250.00 or so) to cover the expenses.
Is it asking to much to have the kids / parents of the kids fork over $3.50 - $4.00 for their child to see a professional stage show at school?
Is there any parents out there that would give your kids the money to see it?
Thanks!
Parent: For children that cant afford it, the school would be able to pick up the tab if they wished. That way they are not stuck paying for every child… but if A child cant afford it, they will still get to see the show.
We are also thinking about doing a company “discount” for people making under the federal poverty line… if they can somehow prove hardship, we will reduce the price to $1 or so.
In any direction, no one would be “turned away” from seeing the show… even if we just have to admit certain kids free on the schools recommendation.
